Eager to inspire the next generation of explorers, we wanted to shine a light on some of the amazing women we work with. To do so, we gathered Katy, Jessie, Kat and Grace of #TeamMontane for a day of hiking in Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. We filmed this day out and asked them about the challenges they have faced and the opportunities that await those in the great outdoors.
From taking on the world’s biggest mountains to breaking bias in the Alps, running trails on remote islands and overcoming illness through climbing, each woman featured has an inspiring story to share and some great advice for those seeking some motivation and encouragement to get out exploring.
Why we support International Women’s Day
International Women's Day provides the perfect opportunity to celebrate and champion the achievements of women worldwide. At Montane, we are proud to have so many inspiring women internally in our HQ helping to shape the direction of Montane moving forwards. We also work with tons of inspiring women externally who are regularly taking on epic challenges and events. Discover more members of #TeamMontane on our dedicated page.
The story behind our IWD video
Earlier this year we headed to Plas Y Brenin in North Wales to take part in the Alpine Club’s Expedition Essentials for Women Explorers. We invited Katy, Jessie, Kat and Grace to join us for this unique women only event, aimed at empowering more women to take on epic challenges. Read our dedicated story behind to learn more about the Alpine Club.
Whilst there, we headed out for a fun day in the Welsh hills. Joining us was videographer Sam Dugon, as well as the masterminds behind the video, two of our Montane HQ team members, Athlete and Event Executive Hannah Goodfellow Foster and Digital Marketing Manager Fran Wilson.
Topping off this all-women crew was filmmaker Ellie Green who edited the footage together. Discover more about the inspiring women involved in making this video happen on our dedicated IWD23 page.
