Giving back on Black Friday has been our stance since 2019, supporting a range of environmental and climate-driven projects. For those unfamiliar, in recent years we have supported the work of Fix the Fells, an organisation with a mission to protect and reduce erosion in the Lake District by tackling it head-on - maintaining and repairing over 344 upland paths covering 410 miles.
This year, we’ll once again be boycotting Black Friday deals and donating our daily marketing budget to help Fix the Fells’ invaluable work. But that’s not all, keep reading to discover how we’re going one step further to boost our support…
Montane Black Friday Deals
We won’t be pushing any Black Friday deals. This year add a donation to Fix The Fells on your Montane purchase and we will double your donation. That’s right…we will double any donations made by yourself on montane.com, from 24th to 27th November 2023* Every penny will go towards combating erosion head on through the dedicated Fix the Fells team.
By joining forces we’re helping to keep the Lake District a special place for future generations to enjoy. Alternatively, get outside, go on a hike, run that trail, climb that rock face!
Joining forces to correct our path
We’re committed to knowing our impact and correcting our path. That’s why we support environmental and climate driven projects and organisations such as Fix the Fells that are dedicated to protecting the great outdoors.
In September we introduced the opportunity for customers to donate to an environmental project in our checkout on montane.com, enabling Montane shoppers to contribute a donation themselves. So far, this has raised over £1000. Thanks to everyone who has shown their support!
As a team, we are also passionate about doing our own bit to help. Alongside hosting a coffee morning at Montane HQ for Fix the Fells to raise much needed funds, we also joined them for a day of volunteering in the Lake District. It was a rewarding experience that opened our eyes to the hard, but essential work needed to help combat erosion in this treasured playground.
Our support of Fix the Fells is also endorsed through the popular George Fisher Tea Round - a 30-mile Lake District challenge taking in a number of iconic fells in the National Park. Anyone taking part is encouraged to donate to help combat any erosion caused on these trails.
