Introducing Howard Dracup
His journey into running began as a turning point. After an unhealthy lifestyle left him ill, Howard made a conscious decision to change direction, spending more time outside and rediscovering his relationship with the hills. What started as a way to rebuild his health quickly grew into something far deeper, evolving into a passion that now defines both his running and his life.
Howard is motivated simply by enjoyment — the love of movement in wild places and the sense of escape it provides. That mindset has underpinned some of his standout achievements, including breaking the Steve Parr Round, a defining moment that reflects both his physical resilience and deep connection to the terrain.
A long-standing member of the Montane collective, Howard has been supported by the brand since 2019. Over that time, the relationship has grown into a genuine partnership, with Montane kit playing a key role in his training, racing, and performances across the hills.

“I love the simplicity and high functionality of all my montane kit and the fact that its really versatile. I use it for running, walking, climbing, SUP, kayaking, wild swimming and bike riding. I know I can rely on it to keep me safe, warm and dry when running in testing, challenging conditions alone in the mountains for days on end” - Howard Dracup
