Introducing Robyn Cassidy
Robyn Cassidy is a UK-based ultrarunner who thrives on big hills and long days out, with a particular strength across the 100km to 100-mile distance. Drawn to technical terrain and multi-day racing, she combines competitive focus with a genuine love of being in the mountains.
Having run since childhood, starting with cross country and athletics before briefly dabbling in triathlon, Robyn gradually found herself drawn to longer distances and bigger adventures. Over time, days out became ultras, and ultras became mountainous stage races. Recent seasons have cemented her as one of the UK’s leading long-distance mountain runners, with standout performances including a win at the Lakeland 100 and a commanding victory at the Dragon’s Back Race, a race that remains particularly special to her. Five days crossing Wales in blistering heat, sharing a tent with close friends and supported by family along the way, it captured everything she loves about the sport: challenge, camaraderie, and wild landscapes.
For Robyn, the motivation is simple. She loves being outside. Big days in the hills with friends are still the reason she toes the line, even if the annual family “Chase Down Santa” remains the one event where a podium finish has proved elusive.
